Comments: At age 60, I had my right hip replacement surgery in August, 2019. A year and a half later, I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. I had my first consultation with Dr. Roy Davidovitch several years prior to the surgery. Based on his prognosis at that time, we agreed I should wait and that my body would tell me when it's time.
Using the anterior approach, the surgery went smoothly. Dr. Davidovitch and his surgical team explained the procedure clearly and what I should expect in recovery. I was up and walking with forearm braces just hours after the surgery. Because of an unrelated precondition I was kept overnight for observation. On the several trips to the bathroom during the night I decided to "take laps" around the surgical wing. I was motivated. After one lap I heard a nurse say to another, after seeing me walk by, "must be one of Dr. Davidovitch's patients."
Dr. Davidovitch's team followed up my rehab care with regular contact through the phone App and several phone calls. I was mowing my lawn within weeks and was playing golf by the early spring. I still can't hit my 5 iron but I don't think that's Dr. Davidovitch's fault.
