Comments: I had bilateral hip replacements with Dr. Davidovitch in Summer 2020. At the time, I was 24 years old and already had four unsuccessful hip reconstruction surgeries elsewhere. I was unable to walk without crutches and my physical deterioration was evident. I was an athlete all my life, but came to him in the worst physical condition of my life– underweight, osteoporotic, and frail.
My case was extremely complex and not without risk. Having hip dysplasia complicated the situation, but Dr. Davidovitch is so experienced in post-PAO conversion to THR that I knew I was in good hands. He spent an hour with me at our first appointment to review my case and make sure I understood my options and the future benefits/risks. He was thorough, thoughtful, and honest.
My right hip was replaced in June 2020 and my left was done in August 2020. As we expected, I did have a slower recovery than most, but Dr. Davidovitch was very involved in my post surgical care, and worked in tandem with my physical therapist and pain management physician to ensure I had the best outcome possible. He really cared about my case and has treated me with compassion and encouragement in some of my hardest moments.
My recoveries went well, and I am now 6 years post op. I cannot thank him enough. Dr. Davidovitch helped me restore so much of what I had lost– movement– which helped me improve my physical health and re-engage with my life again. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of him with tremendous gratitude for a new chance at life. It was not an easy road, but I was blessed to have found him and even more fortunate that he was willing and able to help me.
